Cleaning and maintenance
The board is delivered untreated and must be surface treated (e.g. with oil or varnish) to protect it against dirt, sunlight and wear. This is quickly done – and significantly extends the life of the worktop.
Daily cleaning is easy with a cloth and warm water. Please note that soap-based cleaning products gradually remove the oil in the wood and thus dry out the worktop. It is therefore also a good idea to maintain the worktop regularly with oil 2–4 times a year.
Solid wood can be sanded and refreshed again and again. Small damages and scratches? Gone in no time – a light sanding and a little oil, and the board looks like new. This makes solid wood worktops a smart choice in rooms where people live and work.
