Shelf in dark bamboo

Shelf in dark bamboo cut to your measurements.

This type of bamboo is known as super carbonised, and is vertically cut. It makes the shelf stable and has a great texture.

The selected edges in the sketch are nicely sanded, so they are pleasing to the touch. Unselected edges will remain unsanded and the edge will be sharp.

Carbonised bamboo is a light brown board assembled with narrow stripes.

A shelf in bamboo is made up of several thin layers of bamboo that lie on top of each other, so the wood grain changes for each layer. This makes for a stable shelf and gives a nice look to the edge. A bamboo shelf is easy to saw, screw, glue and mill in, and is particularly suited to a shelf due to the bamboo's high strength.

The bamboo shelf is sanded on both sides. The shelf has an A and a B side. There may be filler on the A-side and minor defects on the B-side. The A-side faces upwards.

The wood grain is always in the longitudinal direction.

The edge of a bamboo shelf is different depending on the thickness chosen. See extra pictures. From 21 mm and up, the shelf is made up of several thin cross-glued layers.

The shelf is available in several thicknesses.

The shelf is untreated, and therefore needs either varnish, soap or oil.

The shelf calculator takes into account how many bearers are to be used depending on the shelf thickness. The thicker the shelf, the fewer shelf brackets. The number of recommended shelf carriers is only indicative, should the shelf carry a large weight, additional supports may be necessary. In addition, the nature of the wall also determines how much the shelf can be affected by weight.

Make sure that the shelf is adequately supported. How much depends on the thickness and shelf size, as well as how much load the shelf is exposed to. If the shelf starts to bend, more support is needed.
